its peachy

It was all a dream (cue biggie smalls)

It always starts as a crazy, out there, other people do it, in another lifetime type of dream.

Growing up with an entrepreneur/business minded dad, my sister and I were instilled with “the sky is the limit” mentality. He had a couple different businesses before starting his own concrete business including custom rock work and pool decks. I remember some of the day to day conversations about how he was treating his hardworking crew to lunch, I remember going with him to another happy client’s home after their completed job, and I remember chatting with him about how his business grossed over $1 million in revenue that year and thinking that was the coolest thing ever! Little did I know it at the time but I was learning how to treat employees, how to be a leader, how to keep happy clients, and how to grow a profit. I was soaking up all that business knowledge like a sponge. Meanwhile, he also had a “side hustle” before having a side hustle was a thing. He and my mom owned a couple rental properties, one being our childhood home and another across the street from where we had currently lived. All while building a custom dream home in the hills just west of the city on six acres of property. I saw the hard work that my parents put in between operating the business and running a household.

While my dad taught me about the business side to things, my mom was the one at home with us teaching us about just about everything else (thank goodness I get my cooking skills from her)! She taught us about love, kindness, and most importantly about the Lord. God is my number one and I wan’t to glorify Him in all that I do. Every talent, skill, blessing… all stems from Him.

While in school, I was always so excited to come home from school and share any good news of achievements with my dad. I loooved how enthusiastic he would get when I told him I had aced the test that day or had another 4.0 semester and he would be soooo proud. He would jokingly say, “you couldn’t do any better?”.  With happy tears in his eyes, my dad still to this day tells us how proud he is of us and that’s what keeps me going (Tony Robbins would have a field day with this). My dad never makes us feel crazy for our visions even if I talk a mile a minute and he can barely understand any of it. If you know me, you know how quickly I speak. ESPECIALLY when I get excited about something!

With that said, the entrepreneur gene lives on. My sister, Elyse, has built two successful businesses from the ground up. One as a self-taught wedding photographer in Southern California, even featuring some of her work in a Conde Nast publication and another business more in our dad’s line of work as a hydroseeding company with her hubby.

Elyse and I are two years apart and grew up practically as twins. We know what each other are thinking with a simple glance, can finish each other’s sentences and are on the same wave length at any given time. We just get each other. Each time we’re together our conversations automatically jump to our hopes and dreams and visions for the future. What fun new project are you working on? What’s your latest and greatest idea? We always knew we would work together at some point (still waiting on that actually so if you want to join the its peachy empire Elyse…). We’re each other’s biggest cheerleaders and fans. I know I can ALWAYS come to her for advice or support.

It was the summer of 2019 after a hot backyard workout where the name for its peachy came to be. After “Tuer Bootcamp” kicked our butts we decided to jump into my pool, clothes and all. Ahhhhh, talk about refreshing. It was in this summertime dip that the name of its peachy came to life. Something fun, cheeky, positive, vibrant, welcoming… and as soon as I said it, it stuck. Kinda like when you meet your soulmate… when you know, YOU KNOW.

it’s peachy is for the community exactly what Elyse and my Dad are to me. Everyone needs an “Elyse” or “Steve” in their life cheering them on like crazy. Everyone needs someone in their corner rooting for them to WIN at life. Everyone needs someone who will cry happy tears with them even over the smallest victories. Everyone needs a person to jump in the pool with clothes and all. its peachy is just that.

WELCOME to its peachy, we’re thrilled to have you.
